    letters to the editor (and contact your elected representatives in Congress) to let them know that raising the retirement age to 70 is ridiculous. Frame the argument in economic terms: 1. Older people working longer means fewer jobs for younger workers, which means more unemployment costs, 2. Increased health care costs for employers (older people use more health care than younger people do), 3. Older workers (more experience, have been with the company a longer time) tend to make more money than younger workers - it's going to cost employers more in payroll, and 4. Less productivity and physical stamina for older workers.
    This is just a sneaky way to increase the age at which people can collect Social Security (using the excuse of "people are living longer"). Most likely, raising the retirement age will result in more people dying before collecting a dime in benefits. The only people living longer are CEO's - who never have to lift a finger to do anything.
