New Jersey Democrats and New Jersey LGBT organizations have also "single-handedly" put the kibosh on marriage equality by refusing to put it on the ballot.  Especially considering November's results, they should swallow their pride and "just do it."  All indications are it would pass in a big way.

Instead, each side now claims the moral upperhand and the result is that there is no marriage equality in NJ and apparently won't be for a long, long time, because no way Christie is defeated for re-election.

don't have any problem "putting the civil rights of a minority subject to sentiments or the passions of the day"?

I'm sure you have seen this, but here Cory Booker on this:

      •  Not any more of a problem than in ME, MD and WA. (0+ / 0-)

This is not a huge moral dilemma. I don't have to decide whether I need to declare war, have millions of people killed, and all for a possible greater good down the road.  I don't even have decide whether to kill the terrorist or let him nuke NYC.

It's just a goddamn ballot initiative.  One which we will win big on.  Do it already.  There's been about 40 ballot initiatives on this subject, and more may well come.  NJ isn't special.
