    The authentication process is this. You visit Experian and try to match your answers to their database. If that succeeds, you get to visit SSA and acces the data they have on you.

    SSA does not have access to Experian's data (e.g. information that is on your house deed, which is a public record) and Experian has no access to SSA's.

    If you read the website carefully, all this is explained. It should be much clearer though.

    All that said, why Experian thinks numbers of bedrooms in your house is likely to be easily matched is beyond me. Official records are replete with errors since people modify their houses all the time.
