    10% of their income and then they hold them to that.  I saw an old disabled woman going through her finances and wondering what she could cut.  Not pay the light bill maybe?

    She wouldn't tell me what the RCC would do to her if she didn't pay up.  Apparently, she was more afraid of them than the bill collectors.

      ...requesting 10% of income. Certainly looking to increase contributions, but never that figure or more.

      My only experience in the past 20 years was with a liberal parish, and ended a few years back, but nobody in the church complained about our contribution.  It may not have been a tithe even for a single minimum wage worker.
