The entire freakout by the Catholic Church over Obamacare's requirement that church (nonworship) businesses carry insurance that pays for contraception is that the church is committing the sin of contraception by paying its insurance company to supply the contraception.

In this malpractice case, the church's insurance company is insisting that fetuses are not people.

There is absolutely no difference between the two situations that lets the church insist it's morally liable for its insurer giving contraception but not morally liable for its insurer treating a fetus as a non-person.

In fact fetuses aren't people, and insurers aren't causing the church to sin by contraception.

Of course the moral is that the Catholic Church is totally wrong about everything, greedier for money than for souls, doesn't actually believe in the god it preaches, and should just shut the hell up except to the suckers still passing it cash every Sunday. And those suckers should shut the hell up period.
