    from the draft. At least it did during Viet Nam, the last time the draft was in effect. I imaging the same exemptions would exist for women as men in the draft, with the added exemption of a current pregnancy.

      ..exemption only lasted until 1965. After that, it was married men with children.

        the exemption.
        I wasn't 18 until 1974, so I had to register, but never was called up as the draft had been closed.
