    he doesn't need to be dismissed... yet. As a teacher it's amazing the things we do that we aren't aware of. I've had people observe my classes and afterwards point out that I called on certain students or groups of students more often, or waited longer for certain students to answer, etc., making it seem like I had a serious bias. I had no idea I was doing it, and it certainly wasn't a conscious bias. It just takes someone pointing it out to you, then you can adjust. This guy may not realize what he's doing -- he's a product of decades of biased surroundings.

    IOW, the diarist should just let him know what s/he observed. That's probably enough to make him realize there's something going on. If not, well, then he can be told that the world has moved on.
