I never figured it out till my grand kids were in school.  Teachers cheat.

PS my blondie blue-eyes granddaughter wins all the time.

My gun control petition was shot down.

I have heard the term "cake walk" but really have no idea what it means. and/or especially re school? (I'm from the PNW)

(oh before somebody snarls at me for using an unfamiliar acronym, that's "Pacific Northwest", states of Oregon. Washington & Idaho, usually)

I have also never seen so many people so upset about an "unknown" acronym (JPL); and some of the reactions have been just stupefyingly nasty.

but the vitrol reminds me of other comments I've read on other blog posts (not necessarily here at DKos) where a commentator desperately wishes to upset the author because they don't agree with what is said, so they find an insignificant thing to nitpick about and try to bring that author down.

The acronym thing is part of that, and has no real bearing on my diary.  Neither does pedophilia, but someone brought that up. It's a way to distract from the real issue.

It's a game similar to musical chairs where everyone walks in a circle divided into different sections.  (One person per section.)  The caller of the game plays some music as the players march around the circle, at some random time (like in musical chairs), the music stops.  Then the caller or an associate draws a number or picture from a bag, and whoever is standing in the matching section wins the cake or other prize.

The term cakewalk is also used to mean something will be very easy, because this is an easy game to play, even preschoolers can do it.  Here's one image:

Here is something that Google provided when I searched for "cakewalk and racism"

(Not related, as far as I can tell, with the Harlem Globetrotters.)

People with hatred in their hearts never live up to their full potential. It's very sad.
