  •  I'm a retired software engineer (5+ / 0-)

and have to agree that women make great programmers.

There are very few "one man" projects anymore. Most have to be broken down into a lot of smaller tasks that get assigned to different programmers.

So team work and cooperation are a priority when it comes to making sure that all the pieces fit together and work properly. And, women are far, far better when it comes to working as part of a team.

Men tend to be focused on their own little bit of the puzzle and could care less about working with and helping other team members.

Back when I started back in the late 1960s there were very few women working in the field, but almost without exception they stood out as being good at their jobs and good at being team players.

Fortunately, today things are a lot different. There are far more women in the field and that's a good thing.

The only trouble with retirement is...I never get a day off!
