  •  our problem is the Republicans' problem in reverse (5+ / 0-)

    They pander to their crazy base, then have to pull up in time for the general election.  We start off with general election material, then wonder why the base isn't excited.  We don't win so much as Republicans lose because they can't pull off the pivot.

    Ideological liberals are as desperate for a champion as conservatives are.  Movements aren't built on circumspection and sausage-making.

    Something's wrong when the bad guys are the utopian ones.
