      The Commenter said, "  I can't believe Obama is letting them do this!!!"  The Senate does not have to ask the president permission in how it conducts its business.  Period.

        in retaining Leadership after dropping the ball on this, if the sitting President had publicly demanded that the Senate substantially reform the filibuster.

        That he has no Constitutional authority as POTUS in no way means he does not have immense power in this situation as the head of the Democratic Party.

        This isn't some fuzzy "bully pulpit" issue.  No one is saying he would need to persuade a bunch of independents or Republicans.
