    Some of them have that black patch on their abdomen divided, so it looks like two stripes. But most are single patches, so it may be a developmental thing. Here are some more views from that day, plus a better look at Amelanchier alnifolia leaves and berries just starting to plump up. When ripe, they are dark blue, and not bad tasting. Not as tasty as blueberries, but the birds are big fans. That's the berries, not the spiders.
