How did he get the job?  F & F always had the smell of a setup to me.  It's hard to believe he's a Democrat.

The parts that I note are that he was originally hired by Clinton and raised to his present position by Obama, where he seems to have enjoyed the confidence of AG Holder. As mrblifil notes, "Holder and Obama are not immune from criticism on this front, to say the least." The least.

I do not find it hard to believe that Lanny Breuer is a Democrat.

Lanny Breuer is a completely typical example of this administration's relationship with the savvy businessmen on Wall Street, and the Democratic congressional leadership is not entitled to a free pass either.

When Kos talks about how the demographics are getting better and better for Democrats over the next few decades, it's worth remembering that the Republicans looked almost unassailable a few years before they imploded.

Democrats are not going to be in a position to capture the favorable demographics unless there is serious reform within the party.   Unfortunately, I don't see it happening.  The current leadership has been very successful with the current program.

        part of the problem.

The divorce between the needs of the State and the People has been promoted by Democrats.

They are playing in Norquist's Bathtub. They've ridden and tried to harness the wave in the tub. The wave is about to hit the wall. I wonder what's going to happen then...

What caused our trouble here? From the Democratic Party's angle... what caused the trouble?

It should be failed conservative policies that caused it.

Only thing I can see is that it's 'obstruction', political fighting, and 'spending' that has caused our troubles.

That's just not a believable or acceptable answer.

in the Clinton White House Counsel office and defended Clinton in his impeachment action in the House and trial in the Senate. After the Clinton stent he rejoined Covington & Burling where he was co-head of the white collar defense practice before being named Assistant Attorney General. He was born in NYC, went to school at Columbia, and has always been a Democrat.
