But my feelings on the principle override it. But I get ya, most men's rooms are absolutely abhorrent.

Have it all, menfolk...when it comes to bathrooms!

    •  But, if with social pressure (4+ / 0-)

Men would start to think about what they do more.

Agree that the men's bathrooms are not kept nearly as clean, mainly because men don't do it themselves.

For example, women, if they have dirty hands, will at least rinse the sink out a bit after they wash their hands. Men, not so much.

Men also insist on standing to urinate, often missing the toilet and spraying all over the place because their stream isn't nearly as controlled as they seem to think it is. It's disgusting. Why they do that is beyond me. If it's because they don't want to sit on the toilet because it's not clean, well who do you think made it that way?

Business, splashing around in the pools, but I can see the other connotations that could be gleaned from it. :-D

Men stand to urinate because it is faster. Older men may "miss" because of prostate problems. Younger men miss because of drunkenness, or because they've never been responsible for clean up.

The solution is obvious: Show the boy (or man-child) where the cleaning products are. Give a one-time tutorial. Give an inspection after the job is done. Repeat until training is complete. Voila! Good bathroom citizen.

Remember: If you aren't willing to delegate then you aren't allowed to complain about the workload.

          Without a single stream.

There is also the playing with their hair or looking into the mirror at themselves while doing their business, meaning they miss.

Splashy, indeed. As a young man, I did sometimes have difficulty with the first urination of the morning. I think it had to do with my habit of being a restless sleeper. I might have had a kink in the hose, as it were.

everywhere... cause i did live with 2 guys: my brother and my dad...

they told me: "The pee splashes outwards."

I said: "Yeah and you shake that thing too. Now go wipe it up with toilet paper so it don't stink."

My boyfriend sits down to pee though... but we have a roomy toilet so that "it" doesn't touch the toilet water lol.

but then pee residue builds up on the underside of the seat and melts the plastic.

        i can't win. -_-;

Why hello there reality, how are you doing?
