    of riding in a Tri-motor on Put-In-Bay (Lake Erie) back in the seventies.

    The Tin Goose was one two main forms of accessing the mainland from the Lake Erie islands. The other was a car ferry, which was nice too but much slower. Both of these transports were used not only as a tourist attraction, but by the few people who lived on the islands year round. They'd use the ferry to go to the mainland shopping, and the Tin Goose shuttled kids to and from school.
