    Two lower courts sided with the hospital group, and Stodghill has appealed to the Colorado Supreme Court, which has not yet decided if it will hear the case.
    So, yeah, the courts have agreed with the defense that the fetuses were not persons for purposes of Colorado's wrongful death statute.  That happens to be a result I agree with, but then I'm not the Roman Catholic Church, and I don't go around telling women that a fertilized egg in their wombs is more important and worthier of protection than the women themselves.

    Look, I don't know why you just can't own up to the fact that it is supremely hypocritical for the church to argue a fetus isn't a person when it comes to protecting the church's precious pocketbook while at the same time screaming from the rooftops that a fetus is a person.  Those two positions are simply inconsistent.
