  •  Dogs ain't the kind of thing (2+ / 0-)

you see near Penn Station. Seeing-eye on occasion, but people only work and travel through there. Not residential at all. So, few supermarkets. Can go down to 24th St & 7th Ave -- 15 minute walk, to a Whole Foods.

Around Penn Station, if your dog eats pizza or delicatessen food, likes Starbuck's, you are okay.

What you might do, if you are in a hotel near the Station, and you know which one, the room number, and the time you'll be there, is to order in advance and have it delivered.

There's freshdirect.com check the google map. They deliver food, and even pet food. They seem to have a warehouse near Penn Station, and you might be able to just walk over there and pick up things. Or have it delivered. But I doubt they do cash. They have a credit card, on-line, sign-up if you go for that.

I think they carry Halo Dog Food, probably nothing else.

However, you must tell me how your question relates to my comment. I am clearly missing a portentous connection.

    •  PS: one of the many local delis might, might, (0+ / 0-)

carry dog food, for that worker rushing home late and nothing in the house. But if you find one it'll likely be pretty pricey.

    •  thanks for the info. (0+ / 0-)

I am one of many who go to great lengths to keep the woozle happy as is possible, considering we have to stay in the Hotel Penn during the dog show.  There will be many, many woozles staying there for the duration.

Your comment (to which I had not responded; sorry) needed no pushback from me; I agree with it entirely.  Those that want to, will always find justification for the malevolent acts they indulge in.  Including torture.

      •  we really need just enough food (0+ / 0-)

for the first night; the dog food cartel will be pushing their adulterated wares at us ad nauseam I am sure the next day.

Maybe the KMart has dog food. I do not know.

Just for a laugh I emailed their customer non service department and they told me to go to my local K Mart and check it out.

I would do that, but, being a foreigner and all, we don't have K Marts, and besides, I live 3,000 miles away from NYC. Where there's a KMart on 34th St.

But I guess it's only this far  <----------->  apart on the map that's on the wall in Customer Service in whereeverland it is they work.

        •  Hmmm. K-Mart might have it. (0+ / 0-)

          It's very nearby. Might not.

These days "customer service"; "screw the customer"; who can tell the difference?

check out fresh direct. it looks like a warehouse just 2 blocks south of the Hotel Pennsylvania. Zip Code is 10001.

call them at least a day before (it can be more than a day) and set up a delivery window. usually something like 4-6 pm, or 5-7 pm.

Finally found their dog food page: http://www.freshdirect.com/...

That's what I would do. Come to think of it, if you're in a hotel full of dog owners, you could probably cadge some food from your co-showers. Maybe even ask someone from the US to bring you an extra dose of dog food if you know someone.
