    with speculation that the tenants must somehow be at fault. That may be the case, but even so, the law states the landlord has to maintain a basic level of habitability. Doesn't matter what the tenants do. If the tenants fall below their standard of responsibility, then the landlord can begin eviction proceedings.

    So you think it's okay to withhold heat from a tenant because the landlord isn't happy with them? Let's ask the infant what she thinks about that situation.

      and it doesn't imply at all that the tenant is at fault or that what the landlord is doing is okay. But clearly it doesn't take three months to get a heater fixed. It appears that for some reason the landlord has probably been trying to get rid of the tenant. Of course, it's an appalling and illegal way to do it.

      was in the wrong. Landlord could be a huge asshole behaving wrongly for no valid justification.

      I say that as someone driven out of a fast food job once by a manager who rescheduled me for both openings and closings specifically to drive me out.

      I did finally leave, at the peak of lunch rush when the store had lines out the door.
