    a minimum of two and a half hours of walking each week. We also go together to the gym three to four times a week for weight work and other things that aren't easily done at home.

    We like being fit enough to go biking in the good weather and for long walks at other times. Being out of condition just limits life so much - I feel sorry for folks who have never known a moderate level of fitness.

    Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary? . . . and respect the dignity of every human being.

      also. I keep reading how being physically active really helps keep depression at bay and keeps your mind sharp. My husband's work is mathematical and I think running keeps him mentally fit as well as trim and slim.. Our neighbor lived to 92 and gardened up until the day he died. He used to say that he didn't sit around unless he was feeling poorly and even then it was good to move as it took your mind off of your aches and pains.
