    Our political leaders believe jailing them would lead to failure. If you simply want to prop up the existing structure, you can't apply the law. You'd prove that it can in fact be applied to all the other TBTFers, and you'd expose the rotten core of the system.

      Humans shouldn't be disarmed, for the same reason that cats shouldn't be declawed.

      shit rationalization that prosecuting the big banksters would endanger the financial system?   Is he really that stupid?  Or is he simply just another corrupt corporatist Dem?  I really don't see any other alternative.   Frankly, I think it's a combination of the two -- he's been psychologically "captured" by the oligarchy-inclined Very Serious People that he surrounded himself with from at least the beginning of his candidacy in 2007 and he really couldn't afford to bite the hand that had fed his 2008 campaign so well.
