  •  Obama trolled me re; the Inauguration! (12+ / 0-)

About a week before the event I got a very nice, thick paper envelope from the Inauguration Committee and enclosed was this beautifully embossed 'invitation' card, and JUST FOR A MOMENT I thought it might be real, that I have been chosen at random to attend because of all the work, volunteering and donations I had done. But it was just a 'complimentary memento', dangit. Oh well, I still framed it because it really is a nice piece.

    •  We got one of those, too. (4+ / 0-)

And if it was intended to be an invitation, we didn't receive it until AFTER we got home. :)

I get to choose, and I choose love.

give enough time or money, and you get this.
lots of screams of joy heard around the nation.
      then a whimper.
But i have mine displayed at work too. :)

Enjoyed showing it around work, watching most of my bosses' heads explode (3 of 5 voted for R/R, 1 forgot to vote before he went to NYC & got stuck there by Sandy and the last one thought it was neat and wanted to know if I was going).

I couldn't go, didn't apply for a ticket, but I did take a vacation day since MLK day wasn't one of our holidays at work, and spent the day enjoying the events on the TV, thinking about all the lucky folks who got to go.

Thanks, Melanie and Jim, for sharing!
