There's this thing on your gun called a "safety".  It can be engaged even if the gun is loaded!

Also, if you have a semi-auto handgun, you can have a loaded gun without chambering a round.  And you can have the safety on at the same time!

That is all for class today, students.

Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room!

    •  Further, if you do decide to CC (0+ / 0-)

having the gun without a shell in the chamber is seen as more dangerous because it makes it more likely it will be taken away and used on you.  If you're confronted by an armed shooter, you will likely not get a chance to take out your gun, work the slide and shoot before being shot.

Not all guns have safetys.  Revolvers generally don't.  And Glocks have a safety that is automatically disengaged when the trigger is pulled.

I think you are showing your ignorance.

Even Democrats can be asses. Look at Rahm Emanuel.

      •  Ah yes, the gun fan "ignorance" insult. (0+ / 0-)

It's ironic that people like me are called ignorant, when the supposedly "responsible" gun owners firing their guns in error have zero knowledge of gun safety.  After all, a safely handled gun will never fire by mistake.

When you say that revolvers generally don't have safety, you are obviously thinking of just a trigger block, and ignoring the many other safety features that revolvers do have, such as hammer blocks.  The revolvers I've used have had one, and if this imbecile's didn't then he should not be carrying it concealed and loaded. It doesn't take much to tug on the hammer of an improperly carried gun.

Gun fans need to accept the hard reality that their love of guns has nothing to do with an imagined superior knowledge of them.
