  •  Arches NP holds a special place in my heart (13+ / 0-)

On my bucket list is a week long stay at the camp ground deepest into the park.  I have heard it requires reservations.  I want to slowly wake up to the beauty,  Walk all day in to special places and watch the stars at night in total darkness.  I visited once a few years ago.  It was way to short to be satisfying but long enough to have me  in perpetual awe.  Thanks for the journey.  I will check out your diary on Canyonlands next.

Your posting brings to mind something, timethief. . .what you said 'way too short' when visiting Arches or even nearby Canyonlands. If one has more time, then I'd recommended a couple-few days in either setting. There is SO much to see and do in both parks. If you enjoy hiking, then Arches has a variety of easier to moderate hikes worth the experience. Of course, if going to Delicate Arch (see tomorrow's diary), I suggest leaving early, beating the heat or the crowd, and really get an eyeful of the park's bounty and beauty. Glad to have you along for the tours. The more. . .the merrier.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
