Leftcandid, and that tour is one of two on special tap in tomorrow's sequel (hiking in Arches). Oh yes, I forgot. . .the wind can blow mightily, at times, and I know springtime can launch a person, nearly. Certainly, scores of hats are let loose and never to be found. Not wanting to top your remarks about proper hiking (i.e., foot ware, apparel, and so on), I once saw a rather bedraggled hiker on his way back from the arch. .. with only bare feet! That was strange enough, but also coming upon a stark-naked Sweedish fellow. . .well, what could I say about that since he at least had a decent hat and boots! You do and will sometimes find some rather colorful folks a-hiking. As always, thanks for the comments and if it helps. . .I hope the promo for the Denver meet-up gets results.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.

I was hiking the Na Pali coast of Kauai decades ago and came across a nude hiker - but at least he was wisely wearing hiking boots and had a backpack.

Started on a tour of Oregon Caves once and shortly into the cave there was a spot where people could bail if they had changed their mind.  One woman did - she decided she wouldn't be able to continue because she was wearing high heels.

And then there was the time I passed a hiker in Sequoia Natl Park who was there with his macaw.

Before you speak, ask yourself: Is it kind, is it true, is it necessary. Does it improve the silence. (Courtesy Kos)
