a bike with a motor, as in motorcycle? Or peddling, like I do most of the time? Consider this either way: when you want to do something bad enough there's always a way, including taking a taxi and charging it to your local Senator or Representative, because God knows only such a person can afford the cab fare. In any event, dannyboy1, you're on the right path. . .because even a virtual, like this, gets you there. Thanks, as always, for posting your forthright commentaries.

    •  I have motor and peddle. (0+ / 0-)

Motor would be the only way to head out that far. Have enough friends out west to make the trip a bonus on multiple levels--the places you profile being part of that. You're definitely adding inspiration to the thoughts of future travels. Great work as always, Rich. Will be looking for your next posts.

for the compliments, dannyboy1. . .as always. Tomorrow starts a 3-day in depth series (back to back) on archeoastronomy, and on the weekend a 2-part series on Death Valley. . .one of my very favorite geologic and sand dune settings. And, yes, I do favor other places beyond the Colorado Plateau, like this big valley. Will do others on Yellowstone, Yosemite and whatever else comes to mind. I mean, in this continuum of virtual tour series (perhaps even ad infinitum, as long as the DKos community supports the idea of reading these missives. Glad to be writing these works for you and all the others I've got to meet and hike with (you know. . .in that virtual sense).

Walt Whitman's. . .his 'Song of Myself.' How apt for my own life. And, yes, there can be a spiritualized transformation in a virtual tour. That's why I like to offer as much detail and background that makes these settings more tangible to the imagination, if not reality. See you on the next tour, dannyboy1.
