this was one of your most memorable outings, mainly because the element of suspense and surprise was with you every step of the way. Those are the most outstanding memories of all, because you know you were alive every minute and you put it all on the line. Such a lovely place, the Painted Desert, and certainly a mysterious and enchanting place. Thanks for posting this comment. I think it was fun, but I don't mean to downplay the adventure. . .yours, LakeSuperior. You have lived and you may be lucky to have more experiences like it.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.

    •  Most memorable outing was in New Mexico (0+ / 0-)

I was hiking in the black mountain wilderness area just west of truth or consequences and I hiked to a peak 5-6 miles from the road at the pass.....but then I was trapped in a giant snowstorm in an abandoned ranger cabin for 5 continuous days of snow.

After it finally stopped snowing, I had waste-high drifts to content with only boots and gators to get back down to the road on the trial which was completely obliterated by the snow.
