  •  The central "spine" of FL is safer (7+ / 0-)

If you're willing to give up a view of the ocean and put up with rednecks and alligators the north central parts of FLA won't be flooded even with a 30 meter (~100 foot) sea level rise.

Southern FLA and the coasts will be the first to go. Goodbye Miami. Goodbye Keys. Goodbye Everglades.

    •  Yes, they will (0+ / 0-)

The rednecks up north will have to put up with all those Cubanos, blacks, Asians, Jews, French Canadians, etc. who will shift up there.

quality problem from decades of agricultural chemicals use.

Another problem is the model the state uses to predict ground water flow. The model assumes water filtering through sand and gravel. The reality is limestone karst.

A couple of years ago they ran a dye test. The model predicted 100 years to flow a couple of miles. It took 6 months. It would have taken less time in the rainy season.

Others have simply gotten old. I prefer to think I've been tempered by time.
