    Would you be willing to foot the bill for repairing and replacing causeways, maintaining electricity and gas, telephone and internet?

    It's not just houses and private property.

    These barrier islands and coastal wetlands need to go back to that they are naturally -- ephemeral slivers of land that come and go according the vagaries of the weather.

      We need to remove all imported plants and animals and encourage the islands to go back to natural.  And that doesn't preclude planting native plants to speed it up.  That might protect at least parts of the city from big storms.
