St. Johns River. Make no mistake, they know good and well they won't be passing down valuable property to us. We're going to have to scuba to view our legacy, most like.

They just figure they won't be around to worry about it. That's for us and our kids and grandkids. Decades of environmental activism has worn them down.

They compromise now: live in a place that allows them to ride their motorcycles full time, realize that they won't beat the deluge through death by much, and remain hard core vegetarians with planter gardens all over the place, xeroscape, and try not to run the a/c constantly.

Peace is never simply the absence of war, it is the active presence of justice. It has to do with human fulfillment, with liberation, with wholeness, with a meaningful life and well-being, not only for the individual, but for the community as a whole.

us, we're looking for land/house in a river delta, sigh. unfortunately, I'm having a heck of a time finding elevation maps; AND the sea level rise interactive at only goes to 60M. and the lastest scare is 200M. yeek.

Not that I expect our retirement homestead to still be in the family in 200 yrs, but I expect we're going to spend a lot of time fixing it up, and would hate to have it drown in a generation or two.
