  •  Lockdown -- reason I have zero respect for MSNBC (5+ / 0-)

Any good done by liberal programming is more than made up for by this prison propaganda.

    •  I like Lockdown. (2+ / 0-)

I never saw it as propaganda, because it made me hate prisons versus hating prisoners.  Of course prisons are terrible places, we treat human beings like garbage and then act suprised when they act like garbage?  It also exposed to me, how ridiculous the additional time some inmates get really is.  They're convicted (or plead guilty), are given one sentence, and then once in prison, a few people can arbitrarily add to that person's sentence.  That's bullshit.

But maybe the intent of Lockdown went over my head and I saw something different that wasn't intended.

But putting it on the airwaves 30 hours a week seems to have a political point beyond  cheapness, greed, or ratings. Images are everything, and that many concrete walls, clanging bars, and brown people sitting on very thin mattresses looks to me like fearmongering.
