    Fortunately, most married people don't think about having affairs, and most people looking for an affair stay away from married people.  If things were otherwise, we wouldn't pay attention to or talk about it when married people did have affairs.
    We talk about it because it's dirty and we love to gossip.

    You can find studies that put the rate of cheating spouses about 50% (and other studies that dispute that).  There are numerous "swinger's clubs", and "open marriage" isn't a dirty word any more.

    Nor do I think that "singleness" is inherently stressful, any more than being gay is inherently stressful.  Society may put false pressure on us to marry, just as it puts false pressure on us to be straight.  But that's a societal pressure, not an internal one.

    Minority rights should never be subject to majority vote.
