  •  Fantastic post. We recycle at our house. (6+ / 0-)

A compost pile in the back yard provides soil for my herb garden and plants, and the deer get the rest of whatever is edible to them.  It's at the point that I am going to have to rearrange my trash.  The regular trash now is smaller than the recycles.

We take our own recycles.  They will only take clear and brown glass, which leaves out green wine bottles.  Aluminum cans have to go in the trash.  They do take card board, and newspapers.  In essense, they take what they can sell.

Alas, we had at one time one of the best recycling programs in the state in our county, until Republicans decided it had to pay for itself.  If the trash doesn't sell, it doesn't get recycled.
