    Partly it is the light effect in the brain where the change of daylight triggers SAD, hibernation, migration, etc. It is the natural form of light experience that EMDR treatment was developed from.

    If your face and a little arm are exposed, you can make some natural vitamin D, also heavily indicated for treatment now. Check with your SAD medical provider for dose. I'm up to 20,000 IU daily. Cut to 15,000 if I have been outside long enough the day before. Will cut to 'summer' dose, 15,000, in Feb. I dose an antidepressant that helps other issues similarly. Winter is 2x the summer dose. Winter period is Sept to mid or late Feb. Summer: Mar - Aug.
