  •  forget HBO, his life story should be a major, (6+ / 0-)

    first-run motion picture.

the first time i became aware of him, was probably 25 years ago, while i was watching a movie on insomniac theater. i was dozing when he started singing, and i instantly became fully awake, wondering who the hell this guy was, and why i'd never heard of him before. the more i learned about him, the more impressed i became, and the more i hated HUAC and hoover. geez, talk about your multi-talented person.

shame on spike lee (and every other big name, hot shot director), for not having already made a movie out of mr. robeson's life story. his accomplishments are sure as hell more worthy of being shown on the big screen than a madonna. i have no idea what actor is actually talented enough, to do a job worthy of its subject, but there must be someone out there.
