  •  I had a weirdie... (9+ / 0-)

I was thinking about my late, lamented Nermal who died in 2005 walking home on a cold, rainy night in early 2007.  A stray cat had gained entrance to my apartment building while I was out.  She stared at me, and her face was precisely that of Nermal.

She was an adolescent who was hungry, sick and in heat.  The strange thing is that she turned out to be a longhair, but some (most?) longhair cats go through a partial shorthair stage in adolescence.  How would an abandoned cat whose face looked like Nermal's just happen to enter the one building out of 24 in the complex -- and why on earth would she let me pick her up for a few seconds?

(FWIW, she has filled out and likes guests better than she likes me.)
