Can anyone suggest how I might locate a a two-tour 'Nam vet that befriended me at the VA drop-in center in Eugene, OR?

I didn't serve with him but we were homeless together. He was service connected and I was not. He used to help me out with food and stuff.

He did one tour with the USMC, got out, then went back for a second  tour with the USAF. I can't fathom that but he was/is a helluva a nice guy. Not having served in the same era, I have no idea about what units he served in etc.

If anyone knows the whereabouts of one Pat Morin (5'7", 160 lbs., mid sixties, stocky), please PM me. Or suggest a USO type org that I might be able to contact him at.

I left all my military associations when I tendered my resignation. My plaque and saber (the one I gave to my dad) and all other paraphernalia went in the dumpster. It's a long story.

But I'd like to find Pat.

I presume you have, but maybe not.  Sounds like you would have enough information to narrow such a search.

Nothing comes up. He drove trucks for low pay last time I saw him. I think a veteran's org is the only way I'll find him.

He was a big fan of Col. David Hackworth. http://www.amazon.com/...

Hack actually responded to one of my emails just before he passed on. Hack had a little of Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler in him. I guess that's one of the reasons I liiked Pat.

Facebook, Linked In (though it might not fit him) and maybe the Teamsters might be avenues to pursue as well.

Pat took walk-in jobs. They gave you xx amount of money to get the load from Phoenix to LA and if the tie-downs won't come un-done or the streets are being repaired, or the fork lift breaks, it's your loss.

Don't know why he wanted to stay under the radar. Anyway, I'll try the USO. They helped me when I was in  Germany but I did not like the atmosphere at all. Of course, this was just before the first Gulf War and Rush Limbaugh had a TV show on  Armed Forces  Television.
