    They (IMO rightly) perceive the president's intent to engage the people's support for his popular plans as a threat to their hold on the House in 2014.

    What upset Boehner and many of his Republican colleagues is that they have finally recognized what Obama’s second inaugural address really was: the first speech of the 2014 congressional campaign.

    That has them in a panic. It is now obvious to Republicans that Obama has no intention of becoming a lame duck president at the end of his second term. He’s seems willing to bide his time and push for a more-friendly Congress.

    His apparent two-year strategy is to work hard to help Democrats win back control of the House of Representatives and use his final two years to build the liberal legacy he outlined in his address -- a legacy that will be near-impossible to achieve as long as the GOP controls the House.

    Logically, the victim-hood thing should backfire among such supposedly rugged, macho individuals.  Yet they've spent decades whining that they are victims of concocted horrors like reverse racism; of activist judges; of intellectual elitism; of moral relativists; and, of course, the income redistributive government.
