reinforcement pretty much highlighted Morning Joe as Exhibit A.

That's not even "gun control". It's more like "massacre control".

in Politico yesterday (pretty sure it was Politico) that completely misrepresented what Krugman said and has said in the past.
I'm pretty sure he is too stupid to understand the basics that Krugman laid out for him.

Mr. Krugman's view is that Americans would be better off if its government ran deeper deficits and ignored its longterm debt.

running deeper deficits now (to get us back to higher rates of economic growth), but it was Richard Haas, who knows nothing whatsoever about economics but was sitting at the same table, who threw out the accusation that Krugman was ignoring the longterm debt.  Krugman specifically stated that once the economy was sufficiently recovered (i.e., unemployment  substantially reduced and a greater rate of growth restored) that would be the time to turn to deficit and debt reduction.

Richard Haas is a foreign policy "expert" and Joe is a lying blowhard.

I didn't see the clip, because I don't watch Morning Joe- I get all my entertainment from people yelling at him on Twitter every morning. :)
