  •  I am so happy for them (13+ / 0-)

and so glad that our state made this possible.

We were at a local bookstore over the weekend, and a little boy and his mom were nearby. I couldn't help but overhear part of their conversation wherein he very casually and naturally said " X isn't his husband. Y is his husband" and then proceeded to look for the book the mom was looking for.

I loved that it was just a sentence like any other. I want those kinds of sentences to be uttered more often.

We view "The Handmaid's Tale" as cautionary. The GOP views it as an instruction book.

    •  My 81 year old MIL (5+ / 0-)

has a goddaughter who is a lesbian, and have no problem with having our new rector and his husband as full members of our church community (I just taught her how to download the weekly sermons on her iPad), but it still floored her just a bit when I asked her to pray for Bill (commonmass) and his fiancé GMB02. Of course, she's still confused by the whole "online community" thing anyway so maybe it was more that.

We're going to have a generation of kids who are going to grow up and wonder what the big deal was about marriage equality. And I thought I'd never see it in my lifetime.

      ... this Mainer is jealous.

But he lives in Hawaii, he's 82 years old, it's winter ... and he can do whatever he likes AFAIC.
