  •  one more time for the hard of hearing . . . . . (0+ / 0-)

My income has quadrupled over the past four years.

Since then, I have paid for my own annual checkups.

Prior to that, I did not get annual checkups because I could not afford them.

Yes, I have "seen a doctor" for annual checkups for the past three years--beginning from the time I could afford to pay for it myself.  Previous to that, the last time I saw a doctor for anything was in 1988 when I caught ameobic dysentery in Nicaragua. My parents paid that for me. I did not have any annual checkups since then (until three years ago) because I could not afford them.

Fortunately, that was the last time I have had a serious illness or injury that required a doctor visit (not counting the wisdom tooth about ten years ago that got infected, cracked, and fell out one piece at a time--for which I was not able to afford an oral surgeon for treatment).
