    •  Here's the awe-inspiring stat (4+ / 0-)

Joe Montana threw 189 passes in 4 Super Bowls, with zero interceptions.

Peyton Manning, Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, Roger Staubach, Tom Brady ... they all wish they could be that good under pressure.

Economics is a social *science*. Can we base future economic decisions on math?

the Niners win against the Cincinnati Bengals twenty years ago when they did it in the last thirty seconds.  Put me off football forever.  And Nate is the best!  No flies on Nate.

      •  Zero interceptions? (4+ / 0-)

Being from San Diego, that is a statistic I have never run across...

.....and I say that as a Bear fan. An absolute surgeon at that position. Every time he dropped back to pass it was a near heart attack because you knew he was going to make your defense pay.

The most personally painful was the NFC Championship Game in Chicago following the 1988 season - played in subzero weather with a wind chill even worse. Montana roasted Ditka's Bears 28-3. The most brutal-to-sit-through game I ever personally attended. It was "Ice Bowl" conditions but not much of a game.....unless you were a Niners fan.

Montana was a great amongst greats.
