It's really scary looking plus it's got that old-school charm.

If the pilot's good, see, I mean if he's reeeally sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low... oh you oughta see it sometime. It's a sight. A big plane like a '52... varrrooom! Its jet exhaust... frying chickens in the barnyard!

    •  as Mythbusters showed . . . . (0+ / 0-)

at room distances, a person with a knife or sword can be on a gunman and slice him before he can draw his pistol and fire.

      Counter-intuitive, maybe, but true.

      •  I've been told the same thing (0+ / 0-)

        by a police officer.

      •  The SCA has a LOT of stories like that (0+ / 0-)

(good guys with sword/spear/halberd vs bad guys with zipknife/gun), and some of them are even true!

Face it, for sheer intimidation factor a gun, any gun, isn't in the same class with Excalibur. :-)

        If it's
        Not your body,
        Then it's
        Not your choice
        And it's
        None of your damn business!

        •  I did hear a story firsthand from an SCA member (0+ / 0-)

in New York State, years ago.  He was mugged at knifepoint and stabbed---but got away without a scratch because he was on his way home from an event and happened to be wearing chainmail under his jacket.
