  •  no, we don't know lanza was a prepper (0+ / 0-)

that was rumors spread by his aunt who most likely is a prepper herself and said her sister-in-law was one.

the aunt lie about her sister or nephew? I don't know
about preppers but I do know about PTSD and vets.
This guy has something else going on.

but she might be exaggerating something.  But the fact is those who knew Nancy Lanza well universally denied she was a prepper or even a light-duty survivalist, and they probably knew her a lot better than the estranged ex-sister-in-law.  That is all - we don't actually KNOW.

including Salon.com but the tubes also claim she was a devil worshipper ( rolls eyes)... She was wierd IMO.

there were rumors that the police didn't get there for 45 minutes, and yet the NY Times did a feature interviewing the squad if Newtown First Responders and the initial impressions were correct - they arrived within 5 minutes of the first phone call from the office and heard the final bursts of gunfire when they gained entry to the school.  Whole lot of speculation about the mother and the family, and more than a few hoaxers claiming to be family.  But Marsha Lanza gave a bizarre interview the day after the shooting: her appearance was rather alarming: she clearly had not washed for a few days, her hair was uncombed, she admitted she had not seen them for 'several years' and she was on national TV because she was a relative who could give an interview.  I have a few quote-unquote relatives - I haven't spoken to for 20 years or more - and basically, they live under rocks.  Just because she was a relative doesn't mean she isn't a rank lunatic.  It's telling that neither the father, who is an executive in GE, nor the brother (who is a an account exec at Ernst and Young) have made any comment to the news media since the initial prepared statements, and that they have fled Connecticut and are incommunicado.  They probably have actual information about Nancy and Adam, but until they say something, or until the State Police issue some sort of for-public-consumption report, we really don't know anything.  I didn't put much stock in Marsha Lanza, just from the way she gave the interview.  The most peculiar thing about that video interview was that when she was asked about Nancy's rifles, she nodded and said "we talked about, you know, being ready, being prepped..." and it sounded like MARSHA was the prepper and maybe her sister-in-law was humoring her during that visit, which was a few years ago.  That was what I took from it.

But I could be completely wrong.  The astonished reactions of Nancy Lanza's bar buddies to the "was she a prepper?" told me the sister in law was out in leff field.

            •  Yeah and the grandmother lives 20 miles (0+ / 0-)

down the road from me and she is quite as well.  I wonder if it is the paternal or maternal grandmother.
I do know there are preppers in that area.

yeah, nobody who IS in the know or SHOULD BE in the know is saying word one.  Maybe that means there is nothing to say.  Maybe they are traumatized.  Maybe it's something else entirely.  Maybe.

it might be the paternal grandmother - because the father and the brother were reported as having fled to Florida.  Maybe they are all 20 miles down the road from you!

                •  Figures... (0+ / 0-)

And in the meantime I have been trying to find the VISN group for that vet in Alabama...If it had been VISN 7 I know who the VA negotiater is but there is a huge problem . Seems that area falls between 16, 8, and 7 which could mean a whole of things.    Like inadequate healthcare or too far away.  Still researching.

                  •  7 is in Ga. (0+ / 0-)

                    16 in the Panhandle
It looks like it would fall in 7 but what if there is no VISN group overseeing this?  surely there is.
8  ( rolls eyes) in s Ga and Fl.
