"trumping?" It strikes me as original, and if so, is worth pointing out to the Oxford English Dictionary as the first use of the word in the English language. Is this literary history in the making, or am I just leading a sheltered life? So the question is: is this the first use of the word "Trumping". If so, it is, IMO, brilliant, unlike the object d'scorn to which it refers.

I invented today at 05:48:17 PM PST.

"Trump" and "trumping" are in already use with various meanings, but none in the sense I'm applying here, which is "pretending to political aspirations with the sole intention of promoting your own media career".

I'm not sure the OED will greet this usage with great enthusiasm, but if they do, please let it be known that my life has not been for nothing, and that I, if only for one brief shining moment", enriched my language a wee smidgin.

On the other hand yeah, who wants to be associated with two such assholes?

sun with the Oxford English Dictionary. Please submit your word to them, as you are the author. Trumpet your authorship of "Trumping." And perhaps a skilled political cartoonist can submit a pen and ink sketch of the object of your scorn, toupee and all, so that the "Beowulf of the Birthers" can be remembered by even the last remaining Tea Partier, before he/she drowns themselves in a bathtub.
