    •  Are you cool with reading passages from the Koran (0+ / 0-)

Or Torah?  No one complained because the people uncomfortable were probably in e minority. Would you be comfortable if most e kids were Muslim and they made your kid read a passage from the Koran? Would you be cool with that?

Religion in public school is great as long as it is your religion. Aways seems to be the case.

The above poster said no one complained when the practice was ENDED.

& an embarrassment. Kids chose & read the Psalm & the teacher had to order us not to choose 117. The Lord's Prayer had all the Protestant kids mumbling extra words after the Catholic kids had stopped. The Jewish or religionless kids (we had no Hindus & Muslims) just sat silently. I think many of us  sensed it wasn't right, but it what we did every morning.

I read the comment as No one complained at the end of the passage recitation. As in, no one complained each day when they were done reading.

No one complained when they ended the prayer made it seemed like it was no big deal.

          It was a misinterpretation.
