...w/regards to their personal view on wingnut radio advertising, I do agree with the larger point that many email campaigns become worthless spam.

It is important, particularly from the standpoint of convincing an individual advertiser to abandon a particular program, that emails sent are personalized with the writer's own feelings, no matter how poorly conveyed through bad writing.

If I'm a business owner making a decision how to spend my advertising dollars, 10000 emails that say the exact (or nearly exact) same thing don't move the needle for me.  In fact, the emails become annoying spam.  For all I know, the 10000 emails received are from one person using a mail bot and carry about as much weight as an email plea from my long lost Nigerian uncle.

"Mitt who? That's an odd name. Like an oven mitt, you mean? Oh, yeah, I've got one of those. Used it at the Atlas Society BBQ last summer when I was flipping ribs."

file, whether physical or the little one on the screen.

I have also quit responding to any petition calls, those here included. First, easy electronic petitions are less valued by recipients than cut 'n paste e-mail. Second, I quickly noticed any response resulted in a torrent of fund raising e-mail.

In my opinion this trend may be hurting causes instead of helping when any response to a cause results in the equivalent of being mobbed by hungry pigeons because you gave one a crumb.
