and astute if dkos is most of your reading!  I use it a lot like Memeorandum. Here the links in a diary can get you to the best other articles on the subject, which includes those published in a much wider time frame. Also faster and better results than wading through a search list. I hotlist some diaries just because of the links. Good columnist that was linked to here is Forbes 'Token Lefty'  Rick Ungar

I have the same problem with pop culture. After seeing Honey Boo Boo on New Years eve, I started pushing myself to do pop culture forays when I get too disgusted with politics, down about climate change and the RWNJs are pushing my insanity buttons. Interesting how much I appreciate the other stuff again after an hour of avoiding anything Kardashian or Bieber. Ever read David Dark? A Christian scholar who writes about how pop culture uses concepts from the Bible. He is the kind of author I love. Great insight, have to have brain fully engaged to read, and totally worthwhile. Especially for someone who was raised in the Unitarian church with very little Bible reading.

Now I am planning a list of movies that never got rented - too cheap to pay theater prices and the big screen frequently gives me weird dreams or nightmares.

No way I will spend any of the time of my life listening to Rush, Savage, Palin....  I will read a paragraph or what ever it takes to get exact wording. I respect and appreciate the folks who go to Redstate, etc and report back. The ones I encounter in the comment sections of a variety of news sources are quite illuminating. Plus I can throw a response occasionally that gives other readers good ammo.
