  •  Since his labor base is split (5+ / 0-)

I don't see how you can call him competitive. Several of the largest MA unions have already endorsed Markey whose labor rating is identical to Lynch's.

    •  he's going to get lots of cash from (0+ / 0-)

fossil fuel interests, I imagine.  Also the unions endorsed Coakley--enough said.  Lynch is an old-time Boston pol--he resonates, at least in my neck of the woods (he's my representative).

outside the district. I'd guess having Big Oil behind him brings in money but costs votes in the primary.

Republicans...think the American standard of living is a fine thing--so long as it doesn't spread to all the people. And they admire the Government of the United States so much that they would like to buy it. Harry S. Truman

WBZ, darling radio station of all things corporate, unresting cheerleader for Scott Brown, was completely blowing smoke up Lynch's ass tonight.  He is the corporate anointed one.  After the required trashing of Senator Warren, there was a fulsome description of Lynch's bio.  Also some slagging on Markey.  The thing that caused my jaw to drop was that WBZ, WBZ!!!! said that Massachusetts shouldn't waste money on a special election, and that the winner of the primary should just become Senator.  It was that douchebag nighttime host, I forget his name.  He doesn't dare go the full Limbaugh, but I sometimes listen to him when I want to feel ragey.

This is shocking to me.  That means that Lynch is the Republican choice, the corporate choice.  Willing to bet twenty bucks the Herald endorses Lynch.

the right wing's ass all the time. You mean Jon Keller? He's a right-wing shill. As you say, they trashed Warren. How'd that work out?

Of course Herald will endorse Lynch. They already had a front-page story on how Menino can help Lynch win it. They do what they do.
