  •  Most abortions occur at the behest of (6+ / 0-)

mother nature, either before or soon after the implantation of a fertilized egg. No doubt this is very concerning to the donors of the sperm that the mothers are not sufficiently appreciative. And, no doubt, that medical and surgical interventions are employed to complete what mother nature left undone simply adds insult to injury. It is so unfair for the doctors to take the mothers' side and not the fuckers'.

I have long wondered about the meaning of that phrase. It wasn't until I realized that binary thinkers don't use adjectives and adverbs as qualifiers, but rather as antagonists or pairs, like the riders on a see saw. "mother fucker" is a team minus the connector, partners which derive their identity (ideally) from each other. In other words, fuckers are men who turn women into mothers and mothers are women who have been fucked. Of course, if a man is defined by what he does to women, then a person who doesn't do women is not a man. It's not logical, because the premise is false, but it is how some people think.
Gotta watch those preconceived notions. They're critical.

Binary thinkers seem to define themselves, probably because they are lacking in self-awareness, in terms of what they are not. So, for example, a boy is a boy because he is not a girl and a man is a man because he is not a woman and a teacher is a teacher, because s/he is not a student.
It's often been observed that the cons seem to need enemies, someone to hate. But, that's not necessarily correct. Binary thinkers do need the other, but it's not to hate; it's to define themselves.
Take another example: "I am white because I am not black." That is a simple statement of facts, even though the cause/effect linkage is invalid. But, regardless, if someone is challenged with the assertion that not being black doesn't make them white, they can only ask "then what am I?" -- a question to which there is no ready answer. That must be very upsetting and, of course, it's the people who refuse to be identified as the other's fault.

It's often been said that white people need black people to feel better about themselves. That they need black people to even identify themselves has not been much noticed, if at all. There are also, btw, black people, who need white people for contrast. A lack of self-awareness does not seem to be racially or ethnically or gender linked.

Obviously, men need women to replicate themselves. If they also need them to just define themselves, then that would account for much of the animosity that's being exhibited against women who don't want to be linked to men. Women divorcing the fathers of their children is very upsetting. Leaving the children with the men seems somewhat better. At least the men are then evidentially fathers.

How many men are getting married to male partners so they can qualify to be fathers?
How much of this ID mania is being driven by the need to be identified by some other or outside agency?

Socrates said "Know thyself." Apparently, even that long ago there were some people to whom self-knowledge, awareness did not come automatically. I mean, it's not necessary to direct something that occurs on its own.

"I am because I think." Is wrong.  Lots of people think without knowing who they are and some are even wrong about who they are. Dubya, for example, said, "I am the decider." We all know that was false.

Anyway, abortion is not something for the law to regulate. Who gets medical care in connection with reproduction, which is always a burdensome process, shouldn't be either. But, U.S. law has always been used to deprive humans of their rights -- often by the simple expedient of declaring them property, rather than persons. The notion that fetal cells, which haven't as yet acquired the properties of a person, should be declared persons, while juveniles are declared to be the property of their parents, not persons entitled to human and civil rights, is grossly ironic, albeit not inconsistent with precedent.

We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.
