    Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller didn't move to the left after they stopped caring about re-election.  (Probably relevant that Lieberman lost a Democratic primary and Murkowski lost a Republican primary.)

      Zell Miller and Artur Davis don't count as they effectively turned into partisan Republicans.  Lieberman is a consistent denizen at the bottom of the caucus' liberal rating but has seemed to stay out of the limelight when it comes to trashing Democratic positions - especially since the Iraq drawdown.  I do give props to him for being a leader in the DADT legislative battle and eventually voting for health care.
